Xerocon Brisbane 2019

Dubbed the “Coachella for Accountants”, Xerocon Brisbane 2019 lived up to the hype. Held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 3-day event featured world-class speakers, including business leaders, thought makers and technologists. It showcased the latest and greatest tech including LUCA+, and presented a great opportunity to network with peers from around the world.

While it lived and breathed accounting, the event featured a range of activities and extras, including a skateboard design area to bring out your inner creativity, a yoga and wellness area to clear your mind and even barber and manicurist on site for some unscheduled grooming. Whether you were a hard-core accounting guru or having a stroll through, Xerocon had something to peak your interest.

Highlights of the event included the showcasing of new technologies and product innovations, with several keynotes addressing evolving business needs and solutions to match. One such keynote championed E-invoicing, where not only cost and time savings were highlighted, but also the potential ease of implementation.

Xero’s experiments with E-invoicing have seen them begin trials with Caltex, BP and Reece, utilising the PEPPOL invoice open standards. At Block Ledger, E-invocing development is our bread and butter. Our product LUCA+ is already available, featuring PEPPOL compliance and multi-platform support, including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online.

To top off our experience at Xerocon 2019, we had a visit in the start-up alley from Xero CEO, Steve Vamos. Not only did he give the tick of approval for LUCA+, but we also have an autographed LUCA+ skateboard! :0
